About Combat 2 Camera
Combat 2 Camera is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides photography-based programming to strengthen veteran mental wellness, social connection, and renewed purpose.
What It Is
Founded by a U.S. Army veteran, Combat 2 Camera was created with a clear understanding of the challenges many veterans face after service: isolation, identity loss, and difficulty reconnecting to daily life.
The organization uses structured, creative programming to support mental wellness, build social connection, and create meaningful opportunities for veterans to engage with a skill, a community, and a sense of forward motion.

The organization is rooted in firsthand understanding of what it means to search for connection and purpose after service.
Photography is used as a structured practice that supports focus, expression, reflection, and emotional reconnection.
Early programming is shaping a model that can expand while protecting quality, community, and mission integrity.
Why It Works
Combat 2 Camera is built around a practical model: veterans learn photography, practice it in community, and build confidence and connection through repeated shared experiences.
Approach
Participants learn practical photography skills that support focus, progress, and continued creative growth.

Early Impact
Combat 2 Camera has already moved beyond concept stage. The pilot phase has demonstrated real participation, hands-on delivery, and meaningful early signals of connection and creative reengagement.
Programming has already included a mix of classroom learning and experiential field-based photography sessions.
Early participation shows real interest in a model that combines skill development, community, and wellness support.
With 501(c)(3) status in place, Combat 2 Camera is expanding delivery while preserving the quality and structure that make the program effective.
Founder Note
Combat 2 Camera was founded by Troy R. Koltermann, a U.S. Army veteran who discovered photography as a way to reconnect, heal, and move forward after service.
He later earned a degree in photography and won the SkillsUSA National Championship in Commercial Photography. That combination of military experience and creative practice now shapes the organization's mission, design, and long-term vision.
